Let's Get Writing!

In Room 6 we write every day.
Today we were writing using our whiteboards.
We always have our abc and blend cards near.
Writing takes a lot of concentration. We speak the sentence before we write it.
We can write with letter tiles too.
Reading helps us to improve our writing.

Getwise with ASB Bank

Room Six Getwise with the Money Man

Captain Cashtastic came to talk to Room Six about money and savings.

He helped us to order dollars and cents from largest amount to the smallest.

We noticed that coins are round and dollars are rectangular.

Captain Cashtastic left us with a very important message...

Spend some on you but save some too!

Tennis Lessons For Room Six

Room Six are very excited to have tennis this term. Coach Marcel, from the Sunnyside Tennis Club visits every Friday to teach us tennis skills.

First we warm up with a hop, skip and a jump.

Then we practised throwing and catching to help our eyes and hands work together and control the ball.

Next it was time to bounce and hit the ball with our hand.

Finally we tried using the tennis rackets.
